Children’s School of Science Book Club
Wednesday, July 27th
4:00 p.m.
On the Porch of the Historic School House
Readers are invited to participate in this year’s CSS Book Club which will meet on the porch of the historic School House on Wednesday, July 27, at 4 P.M.
Our selection this year is Kraken: The Curious, Exciting and Slightly Disturbing Science of Squid by Mashpee based author Wendy Williams. The book examines both the science and the mythology of cephalopods with references to members of the Woods Hole community who have made great strides in medicine and neurology by studying these amazing animals.
The CSS Book Club is a relatively new tradition. We first met on the porch in 2009 with copies of Sippewissett: Or, Life on a Salt Marsh by part time Falmouth resident Tim Traver. Last year, we discussed the timely volume Cape Wind, co-authored by Wendy Williams and Robert Whitcomb.
We are grateful to the Woods Hole Public Library for their literary suggestions and for making copies available of each book selection at the library.
